Goodbye

I know this may sound cheesy, but yesterday we sold my beloved Pontiac Vibe. It was really hard for me to say goodbye, it all happened so quickly. I've had that car since 2003. I had it through 4 years of college, 4 boyfriends, dozens of road-trips, 3 years of marriage, and it brought home two kids from the hospital. That car has a lot of memories attached to it, and I'll never drive it again. Does anyone else get really attached to things like I do? Change is hard for me. Although it does mean a better car is around the corner, I'm grateful for all the fun times I've had in that car and for all the fun places it's taken me. Goodbye my white Pontiac Vibe, goodbye.

I am SO glad to know that I am not the only one who gets sad to get rid of cars. I cried when my parents sold their old station wagon, I BAWLED when I sold my first car, and I am pretty sure I cried when the teal Escort got totalled for good. I will never forget the night I met Sam and seeing him pull up in that teal Escort. I was so impressed that he was such a cute guy and that he didn't need some expensive masculine car to feel like a man. (I later learned about the Dodge Ram, but that is a different story....)

So what kind of car is going to replace the Vibe?????

P.S. Is this the longest comment you've ever had????

So sad! You're not alone. I really miss our condo because it's where we brought home Raegan from the hospital. I'm sure you'll love your new car though.

My first thought was "didn't your car have a name?" but then I decided it's probably easier to say goodbye if they don't have a name. Just like a pet. :)
