I Survived the 1st Trimester!!

So, the reason why it feels like I've fallen off the planet and now just returned is because I have!!! Yes, I am expecting!! I can now say that very happily without running to the toilet. I loved the picture I found below of a couples announcement on pinterest. It captures perfectly what I've been feeling. I am so thrilled we're having baby #3, even though it scares me to death, especially if it's another boy. Don't get me wrong, I love boys, but my boys have super crazy, out of this world energy. It's also a joy with one in the super whiny phase, and a 2 year old throwing tantrums all day. Let's just say I want to collapse when the day is over. I'm sure no other mother with boys or girls feels that way;) I am super grateful that I don't feel sick anymore though. I don't know how some women make it all the way through their pregnancy feeling like that. I also don't think it's fair that some women never feel sick...what gives them the right to skip that step huh? No, but in truth it's incredibly challenging with two little ones, when all you want to do is lay in bed all day, every day. I still can't believe the sickness is over. We are very very blessed and so thrilled the Lord has bestowed this most wonderful miracle in our lives. We find out if it's a he or she on January 2nd, so stay tuned.

Playing Catch-Up

Wow, haven't posted in a long time, and I really want to catch up, so here it goes one step at a time. This cute little guy played soccer. He absolutely loved it. He did so well and never complained about going. He was surprisingly competitive and would get very upset when others would try and take the ball from him. The best part was seeing the excitement on his face when he would score a goal. He had the cutest little team and awesome coaches.

Diamondbacks Game

We took the boys to their first professional Diamondbacks game. It was really fun to see their excitement. They both love sports, and it was fun watching Tyler try to explain the game to them.

Sarah Palin

While Tyler was stuck at work, I had the neat opportunity to go meet Sarah Palin last month. Tyler's cousin is married to Kirk Adams, who is running for U.S. Congress here in AZ. Sarah Palin has been one of his big supporters and they had a big BBQ/Picnic just 15 min away from our house. The weather was 113 degrees outside, and we waited in line for an hour to get food, which Sarah and Kirk were serving. Needless to say we were very hot. About every 30 min the paramedics took someone away suffering from heat stroke. It was also a joy when Kellen had a meltdown after Sarah Palin shoved pork on top his roll. As a result, I had a security guard come help me carry my plates and screaming child to a picnic table, nice man. I did however get to say thank you to her and she said "you're welcome"...pretty cool huh. Anyway, the results of the ballots came in and unfortunately kirk lost by a mere 3%...big bummer. I attached a few pictures...kirk is the one in the blue shirt wearing the red apron, and Sarah is next to him.

UTAH!!! THE BEST PLACE ON EARTH...except for maybe Hawaii

In July we went to Utah and spent time with both Tyler's family and mine. It was non-stop fun from dawn until dusk. These pictures are from our time spent with my side of the family. These trips are what keep me going throughout the year. They also keep me from going insane living in a different state away from everyone. I look forward to them sooo much, that I almost hate the trip actually arriving, because when it's over, it means one less thing to look forward to...how depressing is that. Go-cart time with uncle Cameron
Cousins reunited at the movie theater.
Wearing a hat my dad made for his little primary class on Sunday.
Cuddles with Grandma.
The Grand kids opening a special present from Grandma and Grandpa.
All the Scott Grand kids in their annual swimming photo at Alta Canyon...the pool I grew up swimming at.
Just takin it easy
Mom and sisters having some girl time.
Visiting the school where I taught 2nd grade.
Slip'n slide
Getting warm before lunch.
Acting silly at Jungle Jim's.
The best ride is anything with a steering wheel.
The 4 of us.
Playing tick-tock with Great-gramps at his b-day party. I love this man.

Swim Lessons

One of the wonderful things about living in Arizona, is they have great pools. Kellen did a class all by himself this year, while I did a mommy and me class with Brady. It was so fun to see them progress and learn new things. Brady was hilarious...he loved playing in the water, but usually after 15 min he was shivering and begging to go get his towel. Kellen's big achievement was learning how to put his head under the water and dive for things.

Back to July

July was such a splendid month. The first weekend in July we went up to Pine, AZ. and played at the cabin. The cabin is nice escape from the heat, although it does get pretty hot up there during the day, the nights are very pleasant. The boys love playing outside and getting good and dirty. They also love playing on the huge swings outside. Tyler and I enjoy those too. We also found a fun place to swim.
My birthday was on a Monday, so Tyler brought home Rumbi's and some yummy cheesecake after work. After putting the boys to bed, we watched a redbox. It wasn't anything too extravagant, but sometimes those are the best bithdays. Anything that allows me to kick up my feet and gets me out of making dinner is what I call fun:) I also treated myself to a cute swimsuit.
The boys have spent a good amount of time playing in their awesome kiddie pool in the backyard. (Ignore the awful looking yard, we've worked on it since)
The 4th of July we went and watched fireworks at a highschool. We got there early and the boys spent most of the time wrestling and running away from us. However, when their baby cousin showed up, they were mesmerized. We went back to our house after and ate rice krispie treats and set off a few of our own fireworks in the street.

Brady Turns Two

Brady turned two yesterday. Daddy was out of town for the week because of work (He's really only been 45 min away), so we were going to do most of the celebrating on the weekend. However, around 6:00 p.m. we got a knock on the door, and to our pleasant surprise, Tyler was able to get away from his conference for the evening so we could celebrate. He bought a delicious chocolate cake and a few unexpected presents for Brady...a T-Ball set and a kiddie pool. (My Favorite Picture)
Earlier that afternoon I gathered some friends and family at the local pool for a little swimming party. We had a blast. There's nothing better than swimming in 115 degree weather. Brady and Kellen did awesome in the pool. They've learned so much from swim lessons, it's made them a little too confident in the water. Thanks to everyone who came, we had a great time.
Yes, he did indeed touch the flame just then. That pretty much ended the party. His finger blistered up pretty nice and he cried the rest of the evening in pain. Next time we'll remember to tell him no touching. Apparently we thought a two year old already knew that...duh.
