Some days I just don't know where my brain has gone. Like last week when I bought Happy Hanukkah wrapping paper instead of Happy Birthday paper...at least they both have happy in the title. And like today when I went to do my cleaning and found the BBQ sauce with all the cleaning supplies. That will definitely get the stains out right? Can't wait to see what I'll do next.
Happy Thanksgiving!! I am thankful for... - A loving Father in Heaven - A very patient, smart, and handsome husband - The two most adorable, sweet, energetic children - Amazing parents and siblings that I admire - A beatiful home - Yummy food to eat on Thanksgiving.
No, we didn't bring home a baby girl, but we did bring home a Nissan Quest mini van. Aint she a beauty. Tyler and I went back and forth on different cars and we finally came to a decision on this one. I always said I would never drive a mini van, but now that I'm a mom, what the heck. I love the sliding doors, the space, and how easily I can get Kellen and Brady in and out...oh, and did I mention the space.
I know this may sound cheesy, but yesterday we sold my beloved Pontiac Vibe. It was really hard for me to say goodbye, it all happened so quickly. I've had that car since 2003. I had it through 4 years of college, 4 boyfriends, dozens of road-trips, 3 years of marriage, and it brought home two kids from the hospital. That car has a lot of memories attached to it, and I'll never drive it again. Does anyone else get really attached to things like I do? Change is hard for me. Although it does mean a better car is around the corner, I'm grateful for all the fun times I've had in that car and for all the fun places it's taken me. Goodbye my white Pontiac Vibe, goodbye.
I decided to make Kellen and Brady's costumes this year. It wasn't too hard actually, just took a few trips to Savers, a little cutting, sewing, and here you have it, Peter Pan and the Pirate. We had our ward "Trunk-or-Treat" party last night, so we had fun dressing them up for it. Kellen's favorite Disney movie is Peter Pan. Arr Maties! Stayed up a little too late looking for buried treasure. Watch out Brady, he's armed. "Get off me Brady!" Forget about Wendy, Snow White and Mrs. Carebear were Kellen's dates for the night. There was a little jealousy going on. Mrs. Carebear, although two years older enjoyed pulling Kellen around with her. Here she is trying to bat her eyes at him.
Coolest big bikes ever Cow Train Petting Zoo. This cow was scary. It literally tried to get out of the fence and come after us, as you can see in the next picture. We thought it was best to move on. Chubby boy The scared scarecrow The best lookin bunch of scarecrows swinging with a gorgeous sunset Milking the cow to feed his family.
I have been so overcome the past couple weeks with such pure joy, that it's hard to find words to express how I feel. It's kind of like I figured out how to really enjoy all the work involved with raising two boys. I have really been trying to just focus on not letting things stress me out and just enjoying the small things. Some of my favorite moments are when I hold Brady in the rocking chair trying to get him to sleep, and I just get to cuddle him. Those are the happinest moments just relishing in the joy of having the most perfect little human in my arms and wanting that moment to last forever. I think too often I get caught up in routines and chores and then realize I haven't taken time that day to make Brady laugh, or I haven't taken time to sit and read Kellen a story. It's moments like that, that make me realize how quickly it's all going to fly by. They're getting so big and I wish I could just keep them this little forever. I don't want them to grow up. I want to always be able to rock them in my arms and hold them. I want to really cherish every minute. Some awesome pictures taken just after Brady was born by my awesome sister-in-law Michelle.
The day after we returned home from Utah, Tyler headed to work as usual. I woke up and got the kids ready and gave them a bath and breakfast. We were just about to head out the door to run an errand, so I put Kellen's shoes on. He got very excited and began running (very dangerous for him). He tripped on his shoes and fell face first into our computer chair of all places. All I heard was a huge scream and ran over to find Kellen's eye covered in blood. I tried not to panic but I couldn't see exactly where it was coming from. I pulled down his eyelid and found a nice big cut. I managed to call Tyler at work to figure out what I should do, it was hard to hear him over Kellen's screaming. I called the Pediatrician and he told me to take him to the emergency room for either stiches or some kind of sticky glue they could put on it. Tyler told me just to take him the Urgent care down the road. So, I got the kids loaded up and headed there. When we arrived, I got out of the car and realized the Urgent Care had closed down for some reason. I got back in the car only to find out that the engine wouldn't start...are you kidding me? We then had to call Tyler to come pick us up. We sat in the hot Arizona heat for 30 minutes while we waited for Tyler. Whe Tyler arrived, he managed to get the car started again and we figured it best just to head home and give Kellen a nap, he was a wreck. In the end, we discovered Kellen's eye wasn't as bad as we originally thought so we didn't have to take him in after all. We did however take in our car, and it was a very expensive fix (Don't buy used cars). I tried to get a picture of his eye, but it was quite difficult. This is the best I could get. Later that day at the car dealership, waiting for Tyler, we capture a full range of emotions on camera. Distressed Bashful Content Relaxed Happy Really Happy
At the end of our crazy day, Kellen and Brady enjoy tummy time.
We had the most wonderful week in Utah for my little brother Cameron's homecoming. We played and played some more. It was awesome finally having my entire family all together again. Cameron had never met Kellen or Brady before, so it was bittersweet seeing him meet them for the first time. Cameron is truly incredible, and I am in awe at his hard work and perseverance in bringing the gospel to so many people. I look up to him so much and hope I can follow his example. All the Scott grandkids. Kellen has not stopped talking about them ever since we returned home. They are all best friends. Greeting him at the airport. This was my favorite picture we took at the Zoo. Kellen just resting his hand on Brady's head.hehe Enjoying Sconecutter after the Real soccer game. Real Soccer game. They tied in the last two minutes of the game, it was awesome! Enjoying the pool. Going to see Reese in her ballet class...what a cutie. In the moutains, my absolute favorite time of the year in Utah. Yes, my sister-in-law is wearing high heels, and yes I am very short.
